The UK’s first B-Girl Hanifa “Bubbles” McQueen Hudson kicks off Wolverhampton’s Cultural Olympiad with the B-Boy Olympics at Wolverhampton Museum and Art Gallery.

The UK’s first B-Girl Hanifa “Bubbles” McQueen Hudson kicks off Wolverhampton’s Cultural Olympiad with the B-Boy Olympics at Wolverhampton Museum and Art Gallery.

Alongside an exhibition of 80’s UK B-Boy photography will be a display of Bubbles’ very own 80’s original tracksuits and other items from the pioneers of b-boying kindly sent over from New York.

The day also sees the launch of Cause We Got Style! a coffee table book featuring Hip Hop photos and artwork from the 80’s and 90’s that will be available at a special discount and Bubbles will be signing copies of from 2.30pm.

The event will feature exhibition battles in different disciplines, so expect the nation’s finest to be repping England and Wales in categories including headspin battles, under 12s battle and an England v Wales 3 on 3 b-boy crew battle. There will undoubtedly be spectacular sights and tears of pride and joy: just like the Olympics!

The Bronx Boys UK will be strong with Deejay Skamrok manning the decks and Jam Fu both spinning and judging alongside Nene (TBB) and Moni B (Transit Trix) and B-Boy Silence. Midlands legend MadFlow will be hosting and there is an after party from 5pm til late at Revolutions wine bar for those who want to carry on.
