The annual Edinburgh Festival 2011 is live and in full effect across venues in Scotland’s capital city.
There are of course hundreds of different comedy, theatre, dance and other events to see during the festival, but we’ve chosen some of the tried and tested shows that TooMuchFlavour has seen and would happily award with a stamp of approval.
Here are just a few picks of what to check if you’re heading up to Edinburgh this month.
Castle Rocks Breakdance Championships 2011
Edinburgh’s biggest b-boy battle strategically falls just at the same time as when some of the biggest dancers will be in town.
With 10 of the world’s best b-boys invited to battle, Castle Rocks will have some incredible b-boys in town for a weekend to find out who is king of the castle, taking place at City Nightclub, Edinburgh.
Shlomo Mouthtronica
Beatboxer and world loopstation champion Shlomo’s semi-autobiographical one man show has seen a few tweaks since the nationwide Mouthronica spring tour which saw 30 different artists collaborate at each different venue he performed at.
Michael Winslow
The man of 10,000 sounds and Sergeant Motormouth from Police Academy Michael Winslow can hold down a one-man show. We saw Michael Winslow’s warm up gig last week – don’t miss it.
Flawless
Flawless has revamped and extended the second half of their Chase the Dream show into a feature length piece.
Beardyman Unshaved
Hilarious and completely unscripted, Beardyman’s audio manipulation was so funny at last year’s Udderbelly we saw it twice.
We spent hours thumbing through the Edinburgh Fringe guide trying to find some of the best shows to see. Do you think we missed any out? You can comment below or tweet us @TooMuchFlavour with your thoughts!
