Sunanda Biswas of Flowzaic at B.Supreme 2010

Decadancetheatre performed the world premiere of The Cage. Their mixture of hip hop style with contemporary format making for a piece of dance theatre where you never knew what to expect. A solo to Kings of Leon's Use Somebody showed the vulnerability beneath the tough b-girl exterior.

Next up was Canadian duo Bounce and Cheeco aka La Flip Femmes, seems based on the ballet Copellia: a lonely dancer building a doll companion, a sweet concept but somewhat unsophisticated next to Decadance Theatre's piece.

The Waackers received a rapturous reception during the battles earlier in the day and they rule, no, RULE the stage! Bringing us the story of how they came to this event in an around the world piece of lithe fierceness to smite all comers. The Waackers looked fine doing it!

Decadance Theatre opens the second half, challenging hip hop's male dominated convention with dancers from the US France and Japan. This piece makes simple but effective use of LEDs lining their tracksuits and showed how well contemporary dancers can blend into the hip hop world when the house lights switched off to reveal their neon outlines.

Next we learn Kymberlee's only French is the lyrics to Tight Fit.

Then we have French company Septieme Sens with a duet reminiscent of Life of A B-Boy as Clara De Paris relays her musical influences. With references to classic Paula Abdul and Janet Jackson tracks, the kids in the audience looked confused, but this was a journey many of us recognised. Their killer house preceded a final plea to “B Unique, B Supreme.”

Before the last performance we learn that boots and cats are the secret to beatboxing. Ask Kymberlee.

The last company was ATATA from Sweden and yes, Kymberlee managed to get an Ikea joke in before they floored us with their ice cool popping.

And all too soon it's over.

But as we leave the auditorium we have another treat in store as Lady Likez spat her witty London lyrics for a 30 minute set.

What a great end to the night for some and a prelude to an awesome night out for others.
